A woman can see the following types of blood:

  1. Haidh (Period): Blood seen for a minimum of 3 days and maximum of 10 days, with a gap of at least 10 days between two periods
  2. Istehadha (Abnormal bleeding): Blood seen other than the blood of Haidh (Period) and Nifas (Bleeding after child birth)
  3. Nifas (Bleeding after child birth): Blood seen after child birth, can last a maximum of 10 days
  4. Other blood that is not related to the menstrual cycle.
