Are you looking for an ice-cream fix without the guilt of consuming sugar and artificial flavorings? Look no further! This Banana ‘Ice cream’ smoothie is a game changer. Whether you’re new to the kitchen or just looking for a sweet treat, this recipe is perfect for you.

Bananas are a staple fruit in many households and provide a sweet and creamy taste that’s perfect for snacks, baked goods, and smoothies. This blog provides you with a simple recipe to get started on making your own. So grab your blender and let’s get started!

Ingredients

2 ripe bananas

5 tbsp of milk (any milk of your preference)

1 tbsp peanut butter (optional)

Method

  1. Peel 2 ripe bananas and cut them into about 2cm pieces. Freeze them in a ziploc bag.
  2. Once frozen, put the bananas into a blender with your choice of milk.
  3. Add peanut butter or any other variations you prefer.
  4. Blend until smooth.
  5. Pour the smoothie into your favorite glass and enjoy!

Variations

  • 1 tsp of chia seeds for an extra energy boost.
  • ½ tsp of coffee granules for a caffeine boost.
  • 1 tsp of honey to sweeten the smoothie.
  • A few almonds for added crunch.

You can also add less milk for a thicker consistency and ice cream-like texture. This smoothie can also be poured into a bowl as a base and topped with granola oats, fresh fruits, nuts, cereal, or anything else to create a refreshing breakfast.

Note: This smoothie is best consumed immediately after making. Bananas tend to turn brown quickly and leaving the smoothie for later will result in an unpleasant, gloopy, brown concoction. Adjust the ingredients according to your preferences. If you prefer a thicker smoothie, add less milk. If the smoothie is too runny, press the pulse button on your blender to break up the bananas.
